Brain Tumors Over Other Headaches

One thing which makes a person drive to a primary doctor or to a headache clinic is the fear of brain tumor headaches. Agree or disagree, but the fact is that the doctors do take it seriously, depending upon the patient’s symptoms and the aftermath of the physical exam. It is known as secondary headache if the headache is due to brain tumor because there would be any other medical problem that would be causing the pain. This headache can also be called as organic. Even with the patients with recurring headache, brain tumor is rare. But when brain tumors do occur, around 50% come up with headaches, while other come with seizures and other problems like changing of personality or memory loss.

There is headache all over your head in typical brain tumor which is really throbbing in nature. The pain goes fierce as the day moves on. In the morning it is easygoing but grows up during the day. With tumor, some have migraine type symptoms and some may obstruct cerebrospinal liquid which can result in headache which is positional. You get relief from such headache once you are laid down. It is somewhat different from the headaches of tension and migraine as it in those headaches, the pain is not spread all over the head.

At times, for complaints and symptoms from the patient regarding brain tumor, support from a doctor is needed urgently. The doctors are alerted immediately, which is also known as ‘red flags’. Red flags occur with headache which adds and worsen with cough, sneeze or bending. Some of the things which often put people at risk for tumors in the brain which include:

  • Smoking
  • Smoking
  • Smoking (may be you got what was being expressed)

Treatment of tumors always depends on the type of tumor which a person is having. In regards of brain tumor help, doctors prefer some people for surgery, some for chemotherapy, some for radiations and some who are not so serious are just watched for a while. Which states that they need to have serial MRI’s every couple of months.
